Artwork
With a white exterior and a mostly white interior, Irwin Library is comparable to a black canvas where not only time has slightly aged its surface, but where people have left their mark as well. For this reason, Irwin's interior serves as such by showcasing various art exhibits created by both people outside of Butler and members of the Butler community.
Some of the more contemporary art exhibits shown in our exhibit address various levels of interaction. The first invites its audience to participate in it by manipulating its letters. The second empowers its audience to become proactive and addresses consumerism, over-consumption, waste, and reusing that waste. These art exhibits can be seen on the "Word Art" and "T(rash) Elements" pages.
